TRIP ITINERARY

DAY 1:

CUSCO -ROCOTO - APURIMAC RIVER

We will pick you up at 9:00 a.m. from your hotel in Cusco to transfer you in our private transportation to the Inca bridge of Huajachaca (Apurimac River), used by the ancient Peruvians to exchange goods between the Pacific Ocean coast and Cusco (2100 m).

Lunch will be served on the banks of the river.

At this point our guides will provide you with all the rafting equipment which is a wetsuit, life jacket, waterproof jacket and  helmet , at this point the guides will give you the safety talk  about everything you need to know about rafting, including the commands once ready, we’ll begin the Rafting expedition down the river with rapid class II and III of this fantastic river.

We will paddle and find the bases of the ancient bridges used from Inca times to the present day.

Dinner will be served at the camp around the campfire , will provide you tent , sleeping bags and mattresses A+C).

After a healthy breakfast we will hike through the camp to admire the vegetation admire the vegetation such as bromeliads and orchids.

In the morning we will run some rapids and pass the nice part of the canyon to also admire some part of the canyon to also admire some waterfalls and have the opportunity to explore a small creek.

Then, after crossing the calm waters and black rock for about 2 to 3 hours, we will continue through an incredible limestone canyon.

After lunch, we will run a few class 3 rapids and have a good chance of encountering river otters, some deer, cormorants, torrent ducks and other tropical birds of the Andes.

We will pass many old bridges suspended along the river; our camp will be on a nice sandy beach where we will have dinner and camp (B+W+C).

After breakfast, we will run the most intense class III to IV rapids of pool-drops rapids, called “El Otro Derecho” among others.

There is also time to explore a couple of streams with waterfalls.

Lunch at the end of our adventure, at the Huallpachaca bridge followed by a 3 hour bus ride to your hotel in Cusco in our private transportation  arriving Cusco around 4:00 pm (B+L).
