CUSCO
Upon arrival to Cusco, we will receive you, lend you assistance and transfer you to your hotel. We recommend resting for a couple of hours to acclimatize to the altitude of 11,000 feet.
In the afternoon we will go on a City tour with a visit to the main attractions found in the city and its surroundings.
We start by visiting the Temple of Koricancha and the Cathedral, then we continue to the nearby archaeological centers, first visiting the fortress of Sacsayhuaman with granite walls in zigzag of precise stone, the mysterious carved rock of the Kenko sanctuary and the Inca Baths of Tambomachay.
Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight stay in Cusco.
MACHU PICCHU
Early in the morning we will transfer you to the train station to go to Aguas Calientes for a full day tour to Machu Picchu. This legendary
“Lost City of the Incas” was hidden for centuries by the jungle and rediscovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham.
The astronomical observatory of the cities (Intihuatana) is the only known one in existence.
Many beautiful temples, terraces, and intricate stone work are there to be explored.
In the afternoon, we will return to Cusco. Overnight stay at hotel in Cusco.
