Testimonials - PERU
Subject: thanks
Hello Mayuc Team,
just to say thank you for organising such a great rafting trip for us.
The video and picture cd are a brilliant momento.
Maybe you could do us a favour and pass this email on to Daniel, who was our guide 09/10 May.
Daniel, I know you meet many people, but please get in touch for a 'hello' - just in case you will make it to England/Italy/Europe some time - a lot closer for catching up then coming to Peru!

Thank you for helping us to arrange a superb trip to Peru. The itinerary you developed for us showed us a wide range of landscapes and cultural sites. The arrangements were reliable and exactly as we wanted. We have done a lot of world traveling over the years. Our guides in Peru, Alvero and Leo, were among the best guides we have seen anywhere in the world. They were fun, good teachers, and helped to keep everything safe. They took extraordinarily good care of us. They showed us many beautiful, interesting and fascinating areas of Peru. We learned about the history, culture and nature of Peru in detail. The trip was both fun and educational. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Peru and again thanks to you, Alvero and Leo for making it all possible. Please convey our thanks and appreciations to Alvero and Leo. They made this trip the experience of a lifetime for us.

II want to thank you for all your efforts in making our trip a wonderful journey. I left your Country thinking that we were so very well taken care of along the way. I would easily recommend Mayuc to all of my friends who are thinking of coming to your part of the world. The trek was wonderful - Alvaro was great -we enjoyed his passion about what he is doing and he made our trek a trip I will remember for a long time - Mayuc is lucky to have him as well. I felt that you really listened to our concerns and want to thank you and everyone for answering all our silly questions. The Mayuc organization is a great ambassador for your County and people.
Fondly, Jerry
Pps: on another note can you, if possible, send me a copy of the last summary page that you had showing the final balance tabulation of hotel costs, etc. I have the receipts of my payments but this would help Mark and me in figuring out/dividing up our costs. If you can not scan - maybe fax? My fax is 831.649.5971.
Again, thank you so much.

MACHU PICCHU and INCA TRAIL
Subject: Thanks for such a great trip to Machu Pichu
HI,
I just wanted to pass a long a BIG thank-you for such a wonderful trip to Peru and Machu Pichu! Patricia Carrion was our guide and she was just wonderful. We could not have asked for a better guide. Patricia demonstrates such respect for her country and its history. She shows such enthusiasm and knowledge with the history of the Inka's and Machu Pichu. We depended on her and she was always there to help us and guide us on our trip. With customer service being such a focus where I work it was just wonderful to be helped and treated the way we were! All the travel arrangements went so smoothly, with all our transportation needs and as well as moving luggage from one place to another. And the porters were awesome too!
Just wanted to pass on a thanks to your company and Patricia!
I will definitely recommend your group to others!
Sincerely,
Nancy Tokar (I was in Scott McPherson's group)

Subject: about the trail!
hi, this is john mack. i recently took a 4 day inca trail trek with your agency and wanted to tell you it was one of the coolest things that my girlfriend and i have ever done! our guide was lucho, and he really made the trip for us. he was so knowledgable of the terrain, machu pichu, and peru in itself....our porters also, claudio, julio, and melchor, plus our cook lucho were awesome....i just wanted to let you know, when i come back to peru, and i will fairly soon, i will do business again with mayuc. Lucho was one of the coolest guys i have met in peru and i have been traveling for 2 months all over peru...anyway, just wanted to let you know that, i know being an owner you probably would like to hear feedback on the experiences.
thanks again
sincerely,
John
SALKANTAY
Subject: Great trip, thank you, and need info
Let me begin by saying that our trip last week with Mayuc (Salkantay
Mountains to Jungle to Machu Picchu) exceeded our expectations beyond
anything we could have hoped for. We arrived back in Cusco last Saturday
night (30 September) and stopped by the office to drop off our green packs
and to thank you in person but you were incredibly busy and we did not want
to disturb you.
We do much adventure travel and never have I had an experience like this
one. The trek itself and the scenery were of course spectacular, but what
really made our trip unique and special were your people with whom we spent
the week. Juan Carlos is amazing...he went above and beyond to make our
journey not only comfortable, but he offered so much more. He made great
choices with regard to where we camped when plans had to change, always
making sure that we were some place clean without lots of other people
around. He provided everything we needed and more. He is so personable and
knowledgable and we learned so many things about your country and culture.
I cannot say enough about Juan Carlos...you are fortunate to have him
working for Mayuc and he is fortunate to be with such a quality organization
as Mayuc. As far as the rest of the staff, which we know are contracted for
the trips. Roger is an incredible cook and such a nice caring
individual...the meals surprised us so much! Every meal was like a gourmet
experience with so much care and detail put into everything he made...and in
conditions that are difficult (20 degree F temperatures!) Serapio and Pedro
did so many things and were an important part of making our trip so
wonderful as well. Not only did they take care of the horses (which were
happy and healthy), but they set up/took down camp each day, and served us
meals, hot water, and anything else we needed around the clock. These are
all wonderful people and we really miss them all this week and we wish we
were back in the mountains there. I could go on and on but I know you are
busy there. If there are any travel sites you would like me to write to
about Mayuc, I would be happy to do so. We will refer any people we know
here in the US who plan to come to Cusco to use your company.
Now, I have one favor to ask. There was only one bad thing that happened on
the trip and it was that my carry on bag was stolen from me at the airport
in Lima. We spoke to the police and filed a report with IPERU, and I know
there is nothing that can be done. I lost my camera, 300 photos of our trip
(the saddest of all to me), around $500 in Inca jewelry, eyeglasses, and my
trip journal I wrote. In that journal was Juan Carlos'. We made a friend in Juan Carlos and we
want to keep in touch. I also have a package to send him. Can you please
forward right away his e-mail address to me so that I can e-mail him upon
his return from his rafting trip? Thank you very much.
Chando, thank you again for everything. We look forward to returning to
Peru.
Sincerely,
Christine Fogarty
TAMBOPATA
Subject: Re: Tambopata
Camilo,
The best advice that I can give is to book this trip without hesitation. It was unbelievable. We have travelled extensively on adventure trips to many areas of the world and this was hands down the best experience of our lives. I cannot emphasize how great a time we had. Everything was perfectly planned and executed right from the beginning. The amount of preparation and planning that these guys put in was truly remarkable. At no point were they unprepared for whatever the river or the jungle had to offer us. Honestly, it felt like we were on an adventure with close friends or family, rather than a tour group. The Mayuc team took care of us every step of the way. Safety was never an issue. Both the guide and the safety kayakers were real pro's. Even when the river got rough, which is what you hope for, these guys responded within seconds. We were all amazed.
Beyond the rafting itself, the team knows the jungle and river so well that they we would often stop during the day to climb up into a hidden waterfall or explore further into the jungle. It seemed as if they always had something new up their sleeves, some new way to take our breaths away.
A few additional things. Based on previous experiences, I had expected the food to be simple and rather bland. It was the complete opposite. Every meal was something different...they really take cooking to an art form...this was an unexpected and pleasant surprise.
If you are interested in the adventure of a lifetime, do yourself a favor and book this trip. YOU WILL LOVE IT!
Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions. It was one of those experiences I will never get tired of talking about.
