PAINE TOWERS, NATIONAL PARK TREK (7D/6N)
One of the most spectacular wilderness areas in the world lies at the extreme southern tip of South America, Torres del Paine National Park. The park was created in 1959 and declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1978.
The trails between the Torres del Paine famous craggy mountains are among the world’s classic trekking routes. Breathtaking views together with glaciers, rivers, lakes, forests and abundant wildlife provide the trip with constantly changing scenarios and experiences. Along with magnificent fauna such as Guanaco (related to the llama), rhea, silver fox, flamigo and Condor constitute Patagonias untamed wilderness. During summer (Nov-Mar) there are 18 hours of daylight, which gives the explorers plenty of time for the walking journey.
The name of the park comes from three huge granite towers. These towers are the result of a remarkable uplift with near vertical walls of 6,000 to 8,000 feet and are set in rolling grasslands. It is regarded as one of the scenic wonders of the world.
