Colca Canyon (3D/2N)

It is located north of the city of Arequipa, at 180 km (111.8 miles) from it. Over this valley, the erosion from the Colca River creates a canyon of about 70 km. (43.5 miles) length, being the deepest of the world, 3000 meters (9,842 feet). Very beautiful landscapes with strong wind, over flight by condors which are the biggest birds in the world.

Colca Cañon Trip Itinerary

• DAY 1 : We start our trip through the Yura road, passing through the Vicuña National Reserve in Pampa Cañahuas, then we head to Puerta del Colca (Ruta de la Pulpera), located at 4,000 m.a.s.l. You’ll visit the Mollepunko Caves where the pre-Inca rupestrial painted, raised works on stone, as well as the impressive Callalli castle. Here the guide will provide a tasty box lunch. You’ll continue towards Chivay. There will be a Reception in the pre-selected hotel. The passengers will pay for lunch. During the afternoon you’ll visit the baños termales de la Calera (thermal springs), with high temperatures and medical gifted waters. The rest of the afternoon is free for personal activities. The passengers will pay dinner. Lodging.  

  • DAY 2 : A breakfast, in the hotel, you’ll head to El Mirador de La Cruz del Cóndor (sightseeing spot), to appreciate the canyon’s depth at 1,200 meters from the river level, and the condor’s majestic flight. During the return trip to Chivay you’ll be able to appreciate the different sight-seeing spots and typical churches of the Colca Valley, the Antahuilque lagoons, the Amphitheater, the pre-Inca hanging graves, placed at stunning altitudes, the pre-Inca scale plan of the andenes, the Cervantes bridge, etc. After lunch, which will be paid by the passengers, free afternoon for personal activities.  
  • DAY 3 :A; breakfast in the hotel, you’ll visit the typical town  and  take a short walk to the UYO-UYO ruins. Afterwards, you’ll return to Chivay, the passengers will pay lunch. Return to Arequipa City through the Patapampa sightseeing spot road
